Has never read the book and never will…

MINNEAPOLIS—Matt Rideaux, 28, bought the Einstein biography written by Walter Issacson from the Half-Price Books on Excelsior Avenue in St. Louis Park yesterday afternoon. Rideaux is not actually planning on reading the book. “I like this one because it literally just says his name in gigantic letters along the spine,” he said while leaving the store. “I just want it to sit on my bookshelf so I look smart. I’d just get an Einstein poster, but this is more awe-inspiring.”

Rideaux plans on placing it alongside the copy of “Infinite Jest” by David Foster Wallace he’s owned for six years and never read. “It’s a book everyone’s heard of and it’s like, 1000 pages,” he elaborated. “Doing simple stuff like this is so much easier than actually applying myself.”

“[Rideaux] invited me over,” said a very blonde and very impressionable female named Dawn Nolasco. “He showed me his room, and his bookshelf of all things. It had a lot of big books! One about that Norman Einstein guy! I was impressed. Anyone who reads that much must be smart.”
