CHICAGO—Glorified dive bar pianist Billy Joel made the announcement today that he is now your mom’s gay hair stylist, as evidenced by the picture above. There is no word on when or why this transformation took place, only that it appears to be permanent. Joel was overheard the other day talking about how the Avon Day Spa is a “fucking ripoff” these days, as well as complaining to no one in particular about his “oh my god dry skin is out of contrroooolllllll.”

Joel is something of a pioneer when it comes to celebrity transformation – after his 1989 hit song, “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” Joel promptly disappeared off the face of the Earth, only to return in the mid-90s having somehow aged 20 years in his absence, as well as ballooning up to 240 pounds, losing his hair and growing a gray goatee. The metamorphosis has subsequently been named “Billy Joel Syndrome.”

Other celebrity transformation quick hits: Sly Stallone has given up and decided to go with looking like a 70s coked-up drag queen full time, Kenny Rogers is content with his evolution into Theodore from “Alvin and the Chipmunks,” and Tara Reid is about 50% through her transformation into the Sarlacc Pit from Return of the Jedi.
